Can I get a shipping quote without checking out?

On this page you can enter your zip code and whether you are shipping to a residence or business, and we'll give the shipping options. If you find one you like, click it and then click the red "Checkout" button. Not ready to order? Hit the black "Continue Shopping" button or use the top menu to view other items.

How soon can you ship my order?

Hey, we order everything online too. And usually we want our stuff FAST. That's why we strive to ship the same business day if we receive your order by 12:00 Central time. However, if your order absolutely, positively needs to ship the same business day, give us a call at 812-429-1634 so we can expedite it. If you order after noon, your order will ship the next business day. We also offer UPS 2nd day and Next Day Air if you are really in a hurry.

When can I expect to receive my order?

Once your order is shipped, you can use the UPS zone map below to see how long it will take to arrive. This map is for Ground service; if you need it sooner, we offer expedited options, including Next Day Air.

Why is my only shipping option FedEx Freight?

If you order stock sizes of our material, and your order is too heavy or too long to go UPS, Cut2SizeMetals.com will automatically quote you a FedEx Freight shipping rate. This might be a good time to go back to the product page and order your items Cut 2 Size, if possible. In most cases, these smaller, lighter pieces will be able to go UPS.

Why is the FedEx Freight option so expensive?

Well, we're asking them to bring a semi truck from our place to yours, so it definitely costs more. If you order stock sizes of products that are really long (25 ft long angles, say), it costs more because FedEx Freight has an extra charge for items over 15 ft long. If you don't need pieces this long, go to the product page and order your pieces Cut 2 Size, and you'll save money.

My order is going UPS, and it looks expensive, too.

We've spent a lot of time working on our shipping formulas, and we continue to improve them. But because you can get metal cut 2 size, we can't anitcipate all the combinations, and occasionally we are outsmarted by our own formulas. If you think that has happened on your order, just give us a call at 812.429.1634 and we will check, and reduce it if it is too high.

Aren't there other freight companies you could use?

We asked our shipping guru Mike the same question. He tells us that while there are many other options, in his experience, nobody has shorter or quicker shipping lanes. We have also experienced less damage to our freight with FedEx Freight than with any other company. And most of all, we know they work as hard as we do at getting your order to your door quickly, in good condition, every time. We know you don't want problems; you just want your metal.

Is my order insured?

Everything we ship carries enough insurance to cover the cost of any damage caused by the shipper.

Why does the package weigh more than what my order says?

The shipping weight will be more than the actual weight since skids, boxes, and packaging material add weight to the order.
