Expanded metal features flattened diamond-shaped openings along the surface. Type 304 stainless expanded sheet is made from one piece of metal that has been slit, stretched, and then cold rolled, creating a smooth surface; it will not unravel. Type 304 offers reliable corrosion resistance and performs well in both chemical and atmospheric conditions.

Expanded metal is more rigid than an equal weight of solid stainless steel plate, grating, or wire mesh. Stainless steel expanded metal offers savings in weight, and free passage of light, liquid, sound, and air. It is an excellent candidate for most processing techniques and is used for window safety guards, machine guards, strainer baskets, fencing, and other maintenance uses. 304 expanded sheet is available in full-size and custom-cut sizes.

• Tolerances: Our standard tolerance for custom cuts is +/- 1/16". If you need a tighter tolerance, call us!
• Diamond direction: The long way of the diamond runs parallel to the length of a standard sheet, please call to request a specific diamond direction on your custom cut.
• Volume discounts: Unit prices drop on most custom-cut products when you increase the quantities.
